If you're just getting started in your green journey, I recommend "You Are Here," by Thomas Kostigen which gives you a great view of how our choices effect the planet. And then choose something like "Use Less Stuff" or "50 Simple Things You Can Do to Save the Earth." Visit my Reading List to see more.

Recycling
www.freecycle.org - Locate and join your local Freecycle group. This is a great way to put perfectly good stuff in the hands of people who will really use it. And you can get great stuff too, keeping them out of landfills. I've given my son's barely used Boy Scout uniform, toys that people were actually requesting, cleaning supplies, and more. The best thing I've rescued from the dump was a set of like new shower doors.
